Kristen Stewart can’t get enough of Oscar voters in Los Angeles

Balet begins a season of RuPaul’s Drag Race, and other red-carpet tidbits from LACMA’s annual Film Gala on Wednesday evening, the venue used to host some of the most celebrated film premieres. Mia Wasikowska, Lena Waithe, and Leslie Mann are among the luminaries in attendance, along with Judd Apatow, Lena Dunham, Miley Cyrus, Ariana Grande, Carrie Brownstein, Glenn Close, Megan Mullally, John Krasinski, Candice Bergen, and probably thousands of others.

Diane von Furstenberg hosted the event, looking pretty in a white full-length floral gown. Sofia Coppola, who has collaborated with von Furstenberg on several projects over the years, including for The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement, got some help from Cameron Dallas.

Paul Bettany is promoting A Discovery of Witches, in which he stars as a vampire. The film has earned mostly negative reviews, but Bettany has enjoyed supporting roles in a number of blockbusters, including Captain America: Civil War, Avengers: Infinity War, Wonder Woman, and Transformers: The Last Knight.

Meryl Streep and Lady Gaga are said to be speaking, but we’re finding it hard to really separate the stars from the noise. Lady Gaga is a supporter of the fashion brand J.Mendel, a co-sponsor of the annual event, and Gwyneth Paltrow hosted her two daughters, Apple and Moses, on the red carpet, but Lady Gaga took an almost welcomed respite from the spotlight. She gave a low-key performance of a song from A Star Is Born, and then coyly insisted she was just following in the footsteps of Barbra Streisand in her Oscar-winning performance. Perhaps she’s too busy preparing for A Star Is Born: The Touring Years, a stage show that’s currently playing in Los Angeles. Oh, it sounds like she’s got something else coming up.

Plenty of stars came out in support of A Star Is Born, though. Ansel Elgort and Josh Hartnett were also spotted there, both of them wearing rose-colored threads.

Back to the red carpet: Nick Jonas cut a dapper figure as he posed for pictures. Lenny Kravitz wore a sweet-looking, loose-fitting silver suit.

Back on the red carpet: Kylie Jenner and Anwar Hadid cozied up to host Diane von Furstenberg. Julianne Moore looked effortlessly stylish.

On the red carpet: Sarah Paulson gave Ms. Von Furstenberg a warm welcome, and Ms. Paulson sent the festivities off with an exciting fashion update: she wore a raspberry suit that ended with lace.

Back in the middle of the night, at the after-party at Melrose Place (the site of some of the wildest wild parties that ever happened), Gaga began to lose her cool. Boyf Michael Jackson famously had a crush on her, but Gaga has proven to be much more than a talented soul singer. She’s launching a fashion line. Everything about her is red-carpet ready.
